Information about Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Curriculum Themes

One of our school priorities this year is to re design the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Curriculum so that it meets the needs and interests of our children. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which reflects the increasing diversity of our school community and which reflects British Values and equality within our society.

We are returning to a two year cycle for each phase in school.

Each phase in school will have a range of skills which they will be developing in the Foundation Subjects. (History / Geography / Art / Design Technology / Music etc).

In Early Years (EYFS) Nursery will follow the interests of the children and use these to base their topics and themes. In Reception, again the staff will use the interests of the children to plan topics and also topics which will enable specific skills to be developed to ensure that the children achieve their Early Learning Goals at the end of Reception.

Aspects of the curriculum will be developed througb pout the year and we will keep everyone updated via the website or newsletters home to Parents / Carers.
