World Book Day 2024

We are so excited to celebrate World Book Day at
Charlestown.

The theme this year is … ‘Read Your
Way’

The children will be completing a variety of activities linked to this theme and embracing
the fact that everyone is a reader at Charlestown no matter their reading ability.
In addition to this, we are inviting the children to dress up, if they wish to, on Thursday
7th March.

This can be as any character from their favourite book.

Where possible children to bring in the book to share with their friends.

Class teachers will also visit other year groups to explore different genres and read a
variety of books from adventure, myths, sci-fi, traditional tales etc.

Lets see if we can do even better than last year with Charlestown’s Extreme Reader!
The challenge is to see who can read in the most extreme place/position. Children and
staff can send a picture to haigh.a@charlestown.manchester.sch.uk
