My name is Alex Reed, and from February 2024 to August 2024, I am the Interim Executive Headteacher here at Charlestown. This means that I am at the school part time, working with Ms Peters and Miss Boocker as the interim heads of school, to lead the school.
It is a real privilege to be lead this wonderful school in the interim, whilst we seek to appoint a new headteacher. Charlestown is a fantastic community school, with an inclusive and ambitious ethos.
Whilst I am here, I will be working on 3 main objectives:
- To support the recruitment of a new headteacher.
- To ensure children achieve the best possible outcomes.
- To work with parents to develop more effective and consistent relationships with school, with clear expectations on both sides.

We are Claire Boocker and Sharon Peters, the interim Heads of School at Charlestown Community Primary School. Under the Executive Headship of Alex Reed, we will continue to work with the Charlestown team, children and parents to enable our community to succeed.
It is our belief that education is the key to success and we will endeavour to ensure that all children get the best start in life.
